Pillars of Strength. By understanding the structure of the hand, the arm and the shoulder girdle, we can learn to support the weight of our bodies in various poses and develop an economy of movement and an efficiency of energy.
Highlighting poses such as bakasana and tittibhasana, as well as tripod
headstand as preparation for second series headstand.
Pranayama: Linking Breath and Mind. Pranayama is an ancient practice in yoga that allows us to access our energy bodies through various breathing techniques. Pranayama is the vital link between the body, the mind, the emotions, and the metaphysical or spiritual realm. It is an essential tool to restore vitality and create greater spiritual awareness. In this workshop we will explore how pranayama can guide our “inner voyage” towards Self- discovery.
Surya/Chandra Yoga. This class helps to balance the energies in the Surya and Chandra nadir (Solar and Lunar subtle nerve channels), creating a unified flow of energy and consciousness. By immersing ourselves in moment to moment
awareness, we can allow our energies to rise and fall with the ebb and
flow of heating and cooling vinyasa. Our journey moves from: Stamina
building standing poses to strengthen the physical, Hip opening poses to
allow the stagnant emotions to release, and Restorative/Yin poses to
create a deep un-winding and un-minding to the psyche.
