KEITH BORDEN.I am consistently turned on by the stillness within movement, the silence hidden in sound, and the esoteric in the everyday. I love to practice yoga, and sharing this practice that I love for the last decade has been a terrific gift. I'm very lucky. I have great teachers in my life – Jasmine Tarkeshi, Dana Flynn, David Robson, David Gellineau, Manorama, and Rabbi Joseph Gellberman – and being a student is one of the best parts of the yoga practice. I have had the unique experience of working closely with and learning directly from my teachers for the last 10 years, and I continue to learn through the transformative process of self-reflection and the creative dialogue of teaching.
The Lotus Flow™ classes I offer, are energetic and balanced, and are infused with playfulness and creativity. I strive to live, breathe, and offer the devotion-rich yoga that comes out of my daily home practice. I'm a singer, kirtan wallah, a bhakti yogi, and an interfaith minister. I always chant with my classes, and occasionally I play and sing during savasana. I love to experiment in my practice, and years of Muay Thai, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong have taught me that all movement is healing and complementary to my sadhana. My goal is to hold a space that fosters inner quiet, true strength, and a healthy, joyous spirit where students can re-unite with and REJOICE in their true Self. |
CLASSES.Saturday 11:15-13:00 Light Your Fire
Saturday 16:45-18:30 Healthy Hamstrings Sunday 11:15-13:00 Devotion: The 9 Forms of Bhakti on the Mat Light Your Fire. The belly is home to your enteric nervous system. Containing over one hundred million neurons, the ENS is essentially a second brain. Research has shown that more information is sent from the belly-brain to the brain than the other way around. A healthy digestive fire is the key to a happy belly-brain and a quiet mind. Using mudra, pranayama, kriya and asana, this therapeutic practice is designed to ignite your digestive fire. Only to be done on an empty stomach.
Healthy Hamstrings. Stretching is not the solution to a lack of flexibility, especially when it comes to our friendly adversaries: the hamstrings. When our yoga practice doesn't encourage this important group of posterior muscles to be strong as well as long we begin to experience hypermobilty and joint issues. We need our hamstrings to be like the willow or the bamboo, and not like dry, dead trees. In this 2 hour therapeutic practice we will explore the powerful combination of strength and length to build healthy and happy hammies. Open to all. Not appropriate for students with acute hamstring injuries. Devotion: The 9 Forms of Bhakti on the Mat. Bhakti Yoga is the yogi’s pursuit of the Lord of Love. But how do we find this elusive, ever-present part of ourselves? The Bhagavata Purana outlines nine practices to help cultivate this Love for the Lord. This asana workshop combines the familiar movements of yoga asana with the richness of devotion as a way of making our daily practices more meaningful. Bring your voice to sing. Bring your mat to move. Bring your tears to wash your away fear. Find your heart to LOVE. Open to all. >> to schedule |
